A New Braunfels Brewery Guide

The enchanting town of New Braunfels, Texas, is steeped in history. Located between the bustling hubs of Austin and San Antonio, New Braunfels delights visitors with its olde worlde German charm. Named after its Prussian founder Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels, tourists flock to its antique shops and historic landmark houses. Tubing and rafting on the town’s two rivers are also extremely popular pastimes. But New Braunfels is also known for its beer. Despite its size, this historic town is home to three breweries! So if you’re keen to sample the New Braunfels brewery scene, why not book a stay at one of our vacation homes or condos where you’re close to all the action. Here’s our guide to our town’s thriving brewery scene.

Guadalupe Brewing Company

Keith Kilker had the idea of starting his own New Braunfels brewery after travels to Europe and the Pacific North West. He founded the Guadalupe Brewing Company with his wife Anna in 2011, marrying international flavors with local ingredients to craft their own blends. Visitors get to enjoy the delicious award-winning flavors in their spacious, scenic taproom or outside in the beer garden with its brand-new sunshade.

New Braunfels Brewing Company

One of the originals, you’ll find family-owned and operated New Braunfels Brewing Company in historic downtown. They describe their brews as “dry, balanced, and thoughtfully produced,’ and you can sample their craftsmanship every Thursday to Sunday. They offer guided tastings as well.

Faust Hotel and Brewpub

Indulge in German-influenced bar snacks washed down by delicious brews at this friendly downtown hotel. The Faust Brewing Co arrived on the beer scene in 1998 and produces a varied selection of ales and lagers. To keep up with the demand, they also built a new taproom and beer garden not far from the Faust Hotel.
